| The Bucks County Emergency Health Services is the "Regional EMS council" — (defined by PA Code, Title 28, § 1001.2) as a nonprofit incorporated entity or appropriate equivalent whose function is to plan, develop, maintain, expand and improve EMS systems within a specific geographical area of this Commonwealth and which is deemed by the Department [of Health] as being representative of health professions and major private and public and voluntary agencies, organizations and institutions concerned with providing EMS in the region.
§ 1001.1, states that, "The purpose of this subpart is to plan, guide, assist and coordinate the development of regional EMS systems into a unified Statewide system and to coordinate the system with similar systems in neighboring states, and to otherwise implement the Department’s responsibilities under the act consistent with the Department’s rulemaking authority."
The Bucks County Emergency Health Services is made up of a volunteer board of directors and assisted by the Bucks County Emergency Health Services Support Staff.
